Who knew the city of music would have such amazing vegan restaurants?
Here’s a list of my top picks:
Avo: Nashville’s Vegan Hotspot
Avo is a Nashville gem that lives up to its hype. It’s not just about replacing non-vegan ingredients with alternatives—Avo brings creativity to vegan cuisine. With a diverse menu featuring raw and gluten-free options, it’s a great spot for fresh, inventive dishes. This place gets super busy, so either make a reservation or show up early and be prepared to wait.
While their menu is packed with tempting options, I couldn’t resist the cheese plate—it may look small, but it’s packed with flavor (I took half of it home!). For dessert, their cheesecake was one of the best I’ve had in the U.S.
The Grilled Cheeserie: Comfort Food Heaven
If you’re craving a grilled cheese sandwich, The Grilled Cheeserie delivers in spades. The sandwich was so good that just writing about it makes my mouth water. They pair their sandwiches with fresh tomato soup, and I couldn’t resist adding a coconut milkshake to my order.
This spot is a must-visit, especially since it’s right next to Nashville’s shopping area. Perfect for combining a delicious meal with some retail therapy!
Graze: Nashville’s Vegan Favorite
Graze is a renowned vegan eatery that truly lives up to its reputation. As the sister restaurant to The Wild Cow (below), it’s always packed with happy diners. I tried their biscuit bowl with spinach and tofu scramble, and it was top-notch American comfort food.
For dessert, the southern banana pudding was the perfect balance of sweet and smooth. Just a heads-up: Graze is closed on Mondays, but you can always check out The Wild Cow nearby.
The Wild Cow: A Vegan Nashville Staple
The Wild Cow has become a Nashville institution, with a menu that features rotating specials alongside a diverse regular menu. I loved their Spinach & Artichoke Dip with pita, the unique pineapple coleslaw (a must-try!), and a warm soup on a rainy day. This place is great for dining with non-vegan friends, as it’s not all about meat or dairy substitutes.
Their dessert selection is impressive, and I had a cupcake so delicious I doubted it was vegan. Note that The Wild Cow is closed on Tuesdays—Graze is just around the corner if you’re craving more vegan goodness.
Five Daughters Bakery: Vegan Donuts Worth the Trip
If you’re in the U.S., you’ve got to try a donut! Five Daughters Bakery offers several vegan flavors that are as satisfying as their non-vegan counterparts. Plus, their Instagrammable setting makes it a fun stop.
The Post East: Vegan-Friendly All Day
The Post East is a vegan-friendly spot where everything is clearly marked on the menu. My top pick here is the waffles, and the best part? They serve breakfast all day long! Who says you can’t have breakfast for dinner?
Sprinkles Cupcakes: Sweet Treats with a Twist
Sprinkles Cupcakes offers a visually stunning experience with its bright pink cupcake ATM. The store usually has one vegan cupcake—red velvet! While vanilla and chocolate are common, a vegan red velvet is a rare find.
