Flower Fields of Israel

Contents

Winter might not be everyone’s favorite season (definitely not mine—I usually escape to warmer places), but if there’s one thing to love about it, it’s the stunning flower blossoms in Israel! The country turns into an Instagrammer’s paradise with so many beautiful blooms popping up everywhere. So, if you’re looking to brighten up your feed, let’s dive into the most photogenic spots to catch these gorgeous flowers!

Sunflower Fields – June

Yellow was my favorite color as a kid, and sunflowers? Well, they’re basically nature’s smiley faces, right?

These beauties bloom from mid-May to mid-June (sometimes even longer if you’re lucky!). We went to the sunflower field right at the entrance to Hulda (just on the left-hand side of the gate), but there are more spots worth checking out: Bror Hail (on the road from Sderot), Negba intersection (towards Ashkelon), and Kochav Michael village (before the entrance).

Style tip: Want to make your photos pop? Go for something contrasting—an orange or yellow dress will look amazing, or even white. Just avoid green unless you want to blend in with the scenery!

Buttercup Fields in Be’er Tuvia – March & April

Forget about flying to the Netherlands! In March and April, Be’er Tuvia, about 40 minutes south of Tel Aviv, turns into a colorful wonderland. Rows of bright buttercups bloom in every color you can imagine—yellow, pink, white, red, and more.

You can even join in on a flower-picking festival, held only on weekends and holidays. Check out their Facebook page for times.

There’s a small entrance fee, or for around $15, you can grab a cup and scissors to pick your own flowers to take home. If you want the best pics, aim to arrive about 15 minutes before they open. And yes, drones are technically allowed, but maybe keep it grounded if the field gets crowded.

Style tip: To complement all the vibrant colors, white is always a safe choice, but I went with yellow and red for a fun pop of color against the flowers.

Almond Trees – February

February in Israel may be chilly, but it’s also the month when almond trees burst into bloom, transforming the landscape into a romantic fairy tale of soft whites and lavender.

You can find these dreamy fields near Jerusalem around the Latrun intersection or the Tal Sahar village. If you’re willing to drive a bit further, head north to Nahal Rosh Pina for some of the best almond tree blossoms. There’s a beautiful trail near the old city that’s just covered in lavender blooms.

Style tip: I’m all about color coordination here—lavender on lavender or white is a win, but if you want to stand out, go bold with red.

Cotton Fields – Winter

Imagine walking through fields of what looks like fluffy cotton wool—it’s just as magical as it sounds. These cotton fields appear at the start of winter and can be found in places like Nahal Alexander, Givaat Hashlosha, and many more.

Sadly, I missed them this year, but they’re definitely on my list for next winter!

So, if you’re like me and usually dread winter, these flower fields will give you a reason to love the season—at least in Israel! They’re the perfect excuse to get out, explore, and, of course, snap some stunning photos. 🌸
