Israel has so many vegan restaurants it might feel a bit overwhelming. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about the vegan scene here.
Besides the vegan restaurants I’m about to review, you’ll also find loads of vegan products in supermarkets. No Hebrew? No problem. If you’re unsure what to grab, I’ve got a list that’ll make things much easier.

If you’re hunting for vegan restaurants or spots with solid vegan options, here’s a tip: look for the “vegan-friendly” sticker. Restaurants have to meet strict guidelines to get this certification, which usually means a wide range of vegan dishes, including dessert! Strictly Vegan Restaurants:
Urban Shaman – Plant-Based
Love at first bite! Urban Shaman is a dreamy coffee shop serving up some of the healthiest, tastiest dishes in Tel Aviv. Their menu is completely vegan, gluten-free, and seasonal. So it’s always fresh, always different.
Bana – Plant-Based
Bana is all about deliciously simple, plant-based food. Think creative salads like Taste Cucumbers with Avocado (yes, Taste Cucumbers is a real thing, and I once spent an entire day at the market hunting them down). They also serve an awesome roasted pumpkin dish, cauliflower, and a killer Thai-style salad. As for dessert, try their vanilla ice cream cube or the poached pear in wine.
Anastasia – Light & Diverse
Looking for the best vegan breakfast in Israel? Anastasia is your spot. From vegan shakshuka to my personal fave, tofu scramble with spinach, their breakfast is hard to beat. And don’t miss their epic vegan cheese platter! Lunch is also on point, with light but flavorful dishes.
Mitz Marak – Smoothies, Soups & Vegan Breakfast
“Mitz Marak” means “Juice Soup” in Hebrew, which might sound weird but trust me, the food here is excellent! Their soups are top-notch, and they make incredible smoothies, açai bowls, and chia pudding. Don’t leave without trying their vegan shakshuka or the tuna sandwich – both are my go-to picks.
416 – Upscale Vegan Dining
Celebrating something special or just in the mood for fantastic vegan food? 416 is the place. This fully vegan restaurant, run by twin brothers, offers a variety of vegan “meat” dishes. Their sizzling seitan steak is a must, and the vegan shawarma will leave you wanting more. Portions are big, so sharing is definitely a good idea.
Goodness – Comfort Food
Goodness is your go-to spot for comfort food. Whether it’s their over-the-top burgers (one even has pineapple!) or classic Israeli kubeh, they nail it every time. Oh, and save room for dessert – their famous chocolate ball that melts under hot chocolate is a total crowd-pleaser.
Alegria – Casual & Delicious
Alegria is a small but mighty spot, perfect for grabbing sandwiches or salads. Their egg salad sandwich is a personal favorite. And while you’re there, pick up some of their homemade vegan cheeses or cakes. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Cafe Eva – Elevated Vegan Coffee Shop
Cafe Eva is an amazing coffee shop with elevated pastries and salads. Their specialty is the square croissant, a must-try treat that combines both flakiness and rich flavor.
Vegan-Friendly Restaurants:
Market Dizengoff – Seasonal Menu
Market Dizengoff is all about fresh, seasonal ingredients. Their menu rotates depending on what’s in season, meaning everything’s always fresh and delicious. Try their Moroccan couscous or Pad Thai salad.
Food Chains with Vegan Options:
Cafe Landwer – Vegan-Friendly Menu
Landwer has really upped its vegan game with their new menu. The rice and “meatballs” are super filling, but their vegan dessert, Rosalach (a caramel-filled pastry), is what dreams are made of.
Joe’s Cafe – Reliable Vegan Options
Joe’s Cafe is all over Israel, so if you’re out exploring and need a quick vegan fix, this is your spot. Their vegan shakshuka is awesome, and the homefries salad is a massive portion that’ll keep you full for hours.
Aroma – Israel’s Starbucks, but Better
You can’t miss Aroma – it’s everywhere. But unlike Starbucks, Aroma’s got more than just coffee. Their Israeli salads are packed with veggies, and their sandwiches are easily veganized. Try the avocado sandwich (just hold the egg).
Ice Cream Shops:
Vaniglia
Vaniglia has some of the creamiest, most amazing vegan ice creams around. Their lotus-flavored vegan ice cream is a must-try, and there are branches all over the country.
Siciliana
Another favorite is Siciliana, and lucky me, they just opened a branch right under my apartment! Their vegan ice creams are so good you’ll swear they aren’t vegan.
